The giant brick kiln is the heart of the production

HELUZ cihlářský průmysl v.o.s. is the largest Czech producer of brick material and is constantly improving its production. Therefore, during March and April 2021, a reconstruction of the kiln for brick products was carried out in Dolní Bukovsko. The length of the kiln is 120 m, it fires about 300 tons of bricks per day and the firing time is 20-26 hours. The kiln is in operation 24 hours a day and the kiln is always shut down after many years. That’s why the smooth running of the kiln is vital to production.

The reconstruction of the kiln included, among other things, the replacement of the side pre-burners and high-speed burners, including the connecting hoses that gas feed into the kiln. The original rubber hoses were already showing signs of many years of operation in harsh conditions. The surface of the hoses had been corroded and the hose barbs had been ripped from the end caps. This exposed the rubber inside of the hose, which was already worn and threatened to leak gas. This type of rubber hose for gas supply no longer meets the current European mandatory standards.

• The superior 25-year warranty guarantees long-term use of the hose without the need for replacement after regular inspections or when replacing the appliance.

Project assessment

HELUZ service technicians appreciated the very short delivery time of the hoses, even though a large quantity of hoses (130 pieces) was ordered. This made it easier for the technicians to plan the actual replacement, which was also linked to the replacement of the pre-burners and burners. The complete installation of all 130 hoses was completed by two HELUZ service technicians in one working day without any difficulties.
